I am a research associate at Education Development Center (EDC) located in Waltham, MA. I work on research and evaluation in STEM programs, in both formal and informal settings, with a particular focus on equity and access. I am one of the backbone team members on the STEM Opportunities in Prison Settings (STEM-OPS) project, which has the goal of increasing access to STEM education and careers to people who are, or had been, incarcerated.
Prior to working at EDC, I taught in schools in and around Boston, MA, and at Tufts University in Medford, MA. I have a BA and MA in Archaeology and Anthropology from the National University of Ireland at University College Dublin. I have excavated sites and curated collections in Ireland and the U.S., working for the National Museum of Ireland and for Harvard University. I am originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, and now live in Vermont, where I am surveying stone structures in the Green Mountain National Forest that I believe are part of the Indigenous Pre-contact landscape.
